Community Projects Worldwide works with communities in Africa and elsewhere to improve livelihoods.
We can help businesses needing ESG guidance, government bodies, or charitable institutions, deliver programs in these difficult to access places or offer advice to aspiring social entrepreneurs. We have over 30 years experience working with indigenous communities in Africa, Papua New Guinea, and Australia.
We aim to build long term sustainable relationships with our partners whilst establishing and maintaining activities that lead to economic independence and positive environmental and social outcomes.
With training and background in business management, and skills in product development and marketing, we have been able to improve the livelihoods of thousands of people from disadvantaged circumstances over the past three decades.
We have lived and worked in remote and often inhospitable places and have a proven track record in delivering positive outcomes over long periods.
After managing wilderness lodges in Botswana, Papua New Guinea and Australia, we established Kalahari Trading and then Community Projects Worldwide to work with communities to develop traditional skills to create products that would appeal to western markets.
Whilst we have predominantly worked independently during this time we have also collaborated with Oxfam, US Aid, and UK Aid based projects. We also have a strong relationship with a similar organization to ourselves servicing the US market.
In terms of developing a feasible economic model for communities we are able to develop a business plan based around existing skill sets, develop products and then take that product to market through our own logistics and distribution channels both wholesale and retail, delivering meaningful employment and income.
We conduct all our activities and community engagement ethically and sustainably using the 10 principles of the Fair Trade philosophy as a guiding framework.
We are able to work in partnership with, for profit enterprises, social enterprises or charitable bodies to formulate and enact community engagement plans with a view to improving social and economic outcomes for marginalized communities.
