Swazi Market Baskets

These baskets are hand woven from recycled plastic packing tape, in the tiny Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland).

Every day a group of women – Thembi Mabuza , Zodwa Mavuso, and Catherine Mlambo (pic) , sit at the busy market and weave their magic. Each lady can make about 10 baskets in one day.

These hard working ladies have been doing this for over 15 years , providing much needed income for themselves and their families.
